Perminova, developer of web-based information systems for the nation’s leading cardiology centers, announced that Andrew (Drew) Terry is the new Vice President of Software Engineering.

Terry, an expert software developer, joins Perminova from Sotera Wireless, Inc., where he was Manager, Embedded Software Engineering. Sotera is a San Diego company that develops wireless body-worn monitoring devices.

“We’re excited about Drew joining our team in this stage of high growth for Perminova,” said Craig K. Collins, President and CEO of Perminova. “We have a number of critical technology initiatives underway, including the advancement of Perminova EP and the integration of medical device data to better serve our clients. Drew will assume a leadership role in the perpetual innovation that has become the hallmark of Perminova.”

At Perminova, Terry will lead an international engineering team to create a host of new, robust features for Perminova EP, the nation’s first web-based information system for cardiac electrophysiology labs. Advancement of Perminova’s information systems will include developing new features to simplify workflow, streamline reporting, improve charge capture and enhance data sharing. Terry also will expand the company’s products to other areas of cardiac care, as well as build out an exciting new mobile health platform that enables cardiologists to manage patients and cases on iPhones, iPads, Droids and other mobile devices. And he will take charge of ongoing progress in the integration of data from cardiac medical devices into Perminova systems.

Prior to serving as Manager, Embedded Software Engineering, at Sotera, Terry was Senior Software Engineer and Lead Software Engineer at the firm. In almost seven years with Sotera, he was instrumental in designing and implementing the company’s vital sign monitoring platform. He also worked on developing and patenting a novel cuff-less blood pressure measurement. He received the company’s annual Founder’s Award for his work in 2010. Most recently, he managed the software team through Sotera’s first FDA 510(k) submission and approval.

Terry holds an MS and BA in computer science from the University of California, San Diego.
